Тhe Premiere of the “Requiem” by world-famous Armenian composer Tigran Mansuryan, dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Czech Republic

On January 23, in the Czech city of Brno, the Premiere of the “Requiem” by world-famous Armenian composer Tigran Mansuryan, dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide was performed by the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra and the Baroque Choir, under the baton of renowned conductor Alexander Liebreich․ The Ambassador of Armenia to the Czech Republic Ashot Hovakimian and his spouse were also present at the concert. The concert series (January 23-24) titled "Bach and Mansurian", encompassing the performance of the selected works of the two composers, is held under the honorary auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the Czech Republic.
The Czech and Armenian audience highly admired the work by the great Armenian composer and warmly welcomed Tigran Mansuryan, who was present at the concert.
Upon the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia, on the day before the concert, in a very warm atmosphere Maestro Tigran Mansuryan and Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian met with the representatives of the Armenian community in Brno, where Meastro shared some interesting stories from his life and spoke of how the “Requiem” was created. To the end of the meeting Maestro Mansuryan played a piece from one of his famous works.
